Carmen Winstead

Carmen Winstead

Carmen Winstead was 17 years old when her parents decided to move to Indiana. Her father had lost his job and the only way he could find a new one was by moving to a new state. The relocation caused a lot of problems for Carmen. She had to leave her friends behind and start at a whole new school at Indiana.

Carmen had a hard time making friends when she changed schools. It was the middle of the school year and no one had interest in befriending the new girl. Initially, she spent her days alone, walking class to class without speaking to anyone, but she initially started hanging around with a gang of five girls. Carmen thought these girls were her friends, but it wasn't long before she discovered that they were spreading vile and nasty rumors about her.

When she confronted them, the girls turned on her and began bullying her and calling her names, making her life a misery. Every day it became worse. One day she left her books in the classroom at break time. When she returned she saw someone had taken a sharpie and written dirty words all over her books. Another day, she opened her bag and found that someone had put yogurt on the insides. Someday she would come to her school and find her locker had been vandalized. The final straw came when someone stuffed dog poop in the pockets of her coat.

There and then, she decided that she couldn't take the bullying anymore. She planned to stay after school and tell her teacher about the bullies. Unfortunately, her decision was too late to save her life.

After lunch her teacher announced that the school was holding a fire drill. When the alarm ringed, Carmen and the other students filed out of the classroom and assembled in the yard outside. As the teachers read out the roll call, the gang of five girls decided this was the best opportunity to embarrass her. So they moved to where she was standing, and crowded the poor girl and nudged her towards the stinky sewer.

They pushed her and Carmen fell head-first into the open sewer. The five girls couldn't stop themselves from giggling and when Carmen's name was called, they said, "She's down in the sewer!"

All the other students started laughing, but when the teacher looked down into the sewer, she stopped laughing abruptly. Carmen's body was lying below in the muck and poop and her neck was bent at a strange angle. Worse still, she wasn't moving.

There was nothing the teachers could do for her. Carmen Winstead was dead. When the police arrived and went down the sewer, they determined that she had broken her neck. Her face had been torn off when she hit the ladder when tumbling down.

The policed hauled her body out of the sewer and began questioning each of the students one by one. The five girls lied to the police, saying that Carmen had fallen down the sewer when moving around. The police believed them and the case was closed. They were determined it was an accident.

Months later, Carmen's classmates began receiving strange messages such as "They Pushed Her" or "She was Pushed", etc. It said that Carmen Winstead was pushed down the sewer. It said that the guilty people should own up before it was too late. Many of them dismissed it as a hoax, but other weren't so sure.

A few days later, one of the girls who pushed Carmen down the sewer was at home taking a bath when she heard laughter coming from the drain. The girl started to freak out and told her mom. That night, her mother said goodnight and she went to sleep.

Five hours later, her mom was awoken from sounds coming from the girl's room. She got up, worried, and saw that it was empty. She searched throughout the house but there was no trace of her. Eventually, she called the police and several days later they found her body tangled in the sewer, just the same way as Carmen. Her face had been ripped off.

But it didn't stop there. More and more of Carmen's classmates were killed and found in the exact place in the exact way. It seemed that anyone who didn't believe Carmen was found dead next day.

So be careful who you bully, you might just receive the curse of Carmen Winstead.

Note: They say it is a true story. If you don't send this to 15 people in five minutes, you will find Carmen Winstead's curse upon you. (Though I don't believe this and it's phony, guys.)
